Points of Difference

We recognise that the experience of working with external advisers is not always as smooth or predictable as it should be.

At Conspectus, we have deliberately structured how we work to address common frustrations and to provide a more considered, transparent advisory experience.

Fee certainty

We understand the importance of managing advisory spend with confidence.

Where possible, we prefer fixed-fee arrangements that provide clarity and certainty from the outset. Fee ranges rarely benefit clients, and we believe you should be able to rely on us to scope our work accurately and stand behind our pricing, subject only to material changes in scope.

Focussed engagement, not time-based billing

We do not operate on a default “time on the clock” model.

We charge for agreed workstreams, not incidental conversations or routine check-ins. This allows for open, constructive dialogue without concern about unexpected billing for short calls or informal discussions.

Transparency & communication

We believe clients should have visibility over their work as it progresses.

Rather than work disappearing from view until a final deliverable arrives, we maintain regular communication and checkpoints so you can track progress, direction and emerging issues in real time.

Proportionate engagement process

We aim to make the start of a working relationship straightforward and proportionate.

While there are necessary fundamentals in any engagement and onboarding process, we keep our documentation and processes practical, focused and aligned with the nature of the work being undertaken.

Collaborative by design

Our objective is to achieve the best outcome for you, not to retain every workstream.

Where we believe another adviser is better placed to support a particular issue or specialist area, we are comfortable bringing them into the engagement. We work constructively with a wide range of advisers — large and small — and value collaboration where it serves the client’s interests.

Practical implementation focus

Clear technical analysis is essential, but it is rarely sufficient on its own.

We place strong emphasis on translating advice into clear, workable next steps and supporting implementation, so that decisions are not only well-reasoned but also effectively executed in practice
